The Achilles Tang is one of the most stunning tangs among the entire clan. Its color is mainly dark brown, nearly black; the erectile spine has a sharp and forward-pointing on each side of the caudal peduncle which folds down into a groove. The mouth is small, and the snout is noticeably extended, it also has a light blue ring around the chin, a presence of a spot of the same color on the gill and a beautiful orange spot on the caudal area. Juveniles lack of the large orange spot. In the wild occurs at a depth range between 0 '' 10 m, inhabits in clear seaward reefs, usually in groups and feeds on filamentous and small fleshy algae. This particular fellow is commonly found on reef flats and usually feeds on benthic. This species usually acclimates quickly to aquarium life, plenty of hiding places and a varied diet is highly recommended. In captivity Tangs are Reef safe and very friendly to other tank-mates. It is important and highly recommended to say that multiple specimens should only be added at the same time. The Acclimation time should be between half to one and a half hour.
